Geoffrey CoghlanThe founder of Colan Australia, Geoffrey Coghlan was a visionary who in his early 20's saw an industrial future for Australia.

He envisioned the growth of Australian manufacturing through technology transfer and, in conjunction with one of Britain’s oldest textile firms, introduced the manufacturing of woven fiberglass fabric into Australia.

In 1954, he established Colan Products and 60 years later Colan remains at the forefront of industrial textile manufacturing in both composites and safety and protective textiles.

A contributor to the framework of business leadership, Mr Coghlan was one of the foundational members of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He passed away on 23 October 2014 aged 87 and is survived by his wife Pamela, four children, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Geoffrey Coghlan's outstanding legacy lives on as Colan Australia continues to be headed by his daughter Genelle and remains Australia's leading composite manufacturer.
