304 grade stainless steel knitted mesh is used as a covering on removable insulation pads. When applied to the hot side of the pad it provides protection from direct heat contact. When applied to the outer jacket it provides protection from abrasion. Due to the interlocking loops, the mesh is able to move easily without distortion, creating a cloth-like flexibility.
